Following a successful International Business Lounge at FutureEverything, the winners of Apps for Europe 2015 were announced.

GoOV enables people with learning disabilities or dementia to travel safely by public transport; GoOV constantly monitors progress to ensure a safe and timely arrival at their destination. GoOV is an app on a smartphone that communicates with several open databases for public transport, GPS, Google maps.

If a pre-set destination is chosen, GoOV provides ‘the best’ route, based on pre-set personal preferences programmed in the portal. When the traveller starts GoOV, the call center ‘sees’ and supports him actively or passively, based on the information provided by the app. The caretaker can also ‘see’ the traveller in their portal.

There were two runners-up: Allryder & The Data Tank. Allryder is an urban mobility app that lets you compare timetables, prices and durations for different routes and modes of transport. The app works in Germany, Zurich and London. 'The Data Tank' is open source software; a RESTful data management system written in PHP5. It's ready to be your customised datahub inside your organisation that enables publishing several data formats into web readable formats. The software is managed by OKFN Belgium.
